How to launch a Solana token
Last updated: 11 August 2026
Minting a bare SPL token with the Solana CLI is straightforward. Getting to something people can actually trade means metadata hosting, an account to fund and a market to create. On LIMITLESS it takes a name, a ticker, an image and one confirmation. The open beta runs on devnet, so it is free and nothing you click costs real money.
The steps
- Open the launchpad. Go to beta.limitless.buzz. The open beta runs on Solana devnet, which means test funds only, so launching costs you nothing real.
- Connect a wallet. Connect any Solana wallet. On devnet you are given test SOL, so there is no funding step and no card.
- Name the token and add art. Enter a name, a ticker and an image. The launchpad creates the SPL token, uploads the metadata and attaches a market for you, so there is no CLI, no keypair juggling and no metadata upload to arrange yourself.
- Launch it. Confirm one transaction. The token exists on chain with a bonding curve attached, so it is immediately tradeable rather than waiting on a liquidity pool.
- Trade and watch the chart. Buy and sell against the curve straight away. Price moves with real trades, and the chart updates live.
- Build the record that unlocks mainnet access. Every launch, verified quest and accepted bug report goes on your public record. Reputation is how launch access is earned here rather than bought.
What you get that a bare SPL token does not have
- A bonding curve, so it is tradeable immediately rather than needing a market and seeded liquidity.
- A live chart driven by real trades rather than a placeholder.
- A public reputation record that carries across launches.
- A devnet sandbox, so a first launch can go wrong for free.
How long does it take to launch a token on Solana?
About thirty seconds on LIMITLESS: name, ticker, image, one confirmation. Doing it yourself with the Solana CLI is also quick for a bare token, but you then have to upload metadata, fund an account and create a market before anyone can trade it. Here that is one step.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. The standard SPL token program already exists on Solana, so nobody writes a contract for a normal token. What you would otherwise do by hand is run CLI commands, host the metadata and set up a market. The launchpad does those steps for you in one confirmation.
How much does it cost?
Nothing during the open beta, because it runs on Solana devnet with test funds. You can launch, buy, sell and break things without spending real money.
What is a bonding curve launch?
The token is tradeable the moment it exists: price is set by a formula against the tokens bought so far, so there is no waiting for someone to seed a liquidity pool. Selling back to the curve works the same way.
How is this different from other Solana launchpads?
Most are open to anyone, which makes them fast and unaccountable. LIMITLESS gates launch access behind a public reputation record, so a creator arrives with a track record rather than an anonymous wallet.
Try it
The open beta is at beta.limitless.buzz. Devnet only, so launch something ridiculous and try to break it.
